Does this mean it’s over?

Noticed this shortly after a violent burst….

Wendesday Weather Update

I woke up this morning and most of the power was out in my house, but ONLY in my house. It was a weird issue because usually, if the power is out, it’s out everywhere. Well, most homes are wired with two 110 volt leads so that if you have a 220 volt appliance (like an electric stove or clothes dryer), you can connect them. One of the 110 volt leads was out, and I couldn’t trace the problem. Somewhere between the main power distribution box and the mobile home, the line is broken. Well, I just bypassed it with a jumper and have limited power again, but it means I wont be able to use the heater tonight. I really focused on solving the problem early this morning, because I couldn’t have any coffee until I came up with a fix.

The rain today is very much like it was yesterday. I was able to re-moor Puttin’ Along yesterday in the late afternoon, so it is properly anchored now. 2′-4′ wind waves are tossing the float and our little boats again, but everything is holding fine.

The hillsides are about saturated now, so water flow seems to be increasing. The back hall of the kitchen (near the walk-in freezer) is flooded. I guess we’ll deal with that after the rain lets up. I guess Thursday is supposed to be the worst of it. I’ll get some more photos when things clear up. Right now I’m staying inside with the fire going.

Whites Landing Storm Coverage

Here are some photos from today’s rain. The wind is blowing hard right now, and I’ll be watching for the next (even bigger) storm to arrive. (In the third photo, you’ll see a tiny figure in the background. That’s Balboa Mike taking pictures. We waved, but there was no practical way to get across the stream to chat.)
